Dr. Simon Chang grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and immigrated to Southern California in 1980 his with wife and 3 children. His oldest daughter Ling-Ling has pursued a life of public service and is currently a California Assemblywoman. His oldest son Yaojen (which you will learn about later on this page) followed in his footsteps and has become a dentist.
Dr. Chang attended the University of Southern California and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, Class of 1984. Once he graduated, he worked for Dr. Beauchamp’s Western Dental Centers as the Managing Doctor, from 1984-1995. As the head of the highest producing office in all of Southern California, Dr. Chang gave lectures to new dentists entering the workforce for Western Dental, and taught them the clinical skills necessary to be proficient as dentists in the real world.
In 1995, Dr. Chang decided to open his own practice, First Dental Group, in the City of Montclair. After 21 years of good will as a dentist in Montclair, he is very proud to have built lasting relationships with the thousands of patients that have come through these doors. He said that he will not retire completely because he loves what he does.
