Dr. Tichian was raised in Chicago. He received his DDS from Northwestern University Dental School. After receiving his DDS, he entered the United States Navy. He served as a Lieutenant in the Dental Corps and was stationed at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, and also served in Okinawa and Guam. He served 2 years active and 6 years as a reservist. Upon his honorable discharge, he settled in the San Fernando Valley. He engaged in private practice and became a member of the American Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and the San Fernando Valley Dental Society. As a member of the local dental society, Dr. Tichian served several years as a member of the Peer Review Committee. He has also volunteered to give free dental exams to three local private grade schools.
