Dr. Mungo is committed to providing quality pediatric dentistry dedicated to the total oral health and comfort of your children in a fun, gentle, and positive environment.
Dr. Mungo was born in Akron, Ohio. His Midwestern background prepared him well for the road head that eventually brought him to beautiful Southern California. Dr. Mungo attended the University of Akron, followed by graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University, where he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
A tour of duty in the United States Navy provided an opportunity to expand his knowledge and continue his studies. A residency in pediatric dentistry at Boston University fulfilled Dr. Mungo’s dream of specializing in the oral health care needs of children.
The University of Southern California provided additional studies with a fellowship on children with birth defects and special needs. After gaining a teaching degree at the USC School of Medicine, Dr. Mungo spent the next fifteen years as the Director of Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. The hospital based practice and the day to day teaching and research activities were gratifying and very stimulating.
Dr. Mungo lives in Orange County with his current practice in Huntington Beach which was established in 1981. Lecturing and part time teaching duties continue to round out a very busy and rewarding career.
Dr. Mungo contributes his achievements to the love and support from his wife Kris, and children Cara, Nicolas, and Vincent, Hillary, Lisa, and John.
