Dr. Mark Yamamoto is one of the few dentists who has the advanced MAGD degree. MAGD stands for “Mastership of the Academy of General Dentistry”.
In order for a dentist to reach this level they must first complete the FAGD degree which stands for Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.
A dentist who has completed the MAGD level has over 3,000 hours of continuing education in Dentistry. It requires not only regular attendance but active participation in these continuing dental education classes.
Dr. Mark Yamamoto received his MAGD in 1996. At that time, he was the only dentist in Orange County to receive the degree that year.
In 1996 he was also inducted into the Pierre Fouchard Academy. This is an “invitation only” honor organization of dentists that are considered to be the top 2% of practicing dentists.
Besides being very accomplished, the dentists are also required to be known for charitable service to the public.
Dr. Mark Yamamoto, D.D.S., FAGD, MAGD has a reputation for excellence in general dentistry in
addition to his expertise with occlusion (correct bite matching).
He is proud to be an assistant clinical Professor at the USC School of Dentistry (2005 to present).
