Dr. Yorita has been recognized with numerous honors from his publications in the dental profession. He is the recipient of the Excellence in Journalism Award from the California Dental Association, the Journalism Award from the International College of Dentists, the Distinguished Service Award from the Orange County Dental Society, the Award of Merit from the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Presidential Award from the USC Dental Alumni Association.
He has lectured at the USC Dental School, USC Century Club, Rancho Los Amigos Hospital, Long Beach V.A. Hospital, Cypress College, American Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. He has also done presentations in Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and Japan, and is one of the founding members of the Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Institute.
