Dr. Manrriquez is a clinician, researcher and dental educator. He has faculty appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in the Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Residencies. He is the Research Director of the Translational Research Institute of Southern California. The mission of the Translational Research Institute of Southern California is improving patient outcomes through translational research and health literacy. Dr. Manrriquez is a reviewer in the Systems Biology and Bioengineering study section of the USC Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Dr. Manrriquez is also a reviewer for the Communication and Dissemination Research Program of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. He is a Council Member and Chair of the Industry Relations Committee of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Manrriquez is also the Program Chair for the Osseointegration Study Club of Southern California.
Dr. Manrriquez practices in Fountain Valley, California. He provides diagnostic and non-surgical treatment services for the Temporo-Mandibular Joint Disorders/Oro-Facial Pain needs of patients of referring doctors. In addition, Dr. Manrriquez has a restorative practice that includes the diagnosis, treatment and management of implant cases. He is the former Research Co-Director of the Clinical Research Foundation, based at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The Clinical Research Foundation provided continuing education to dentists in the anatomic, imaging, surgical and restorative disciplines.
Dr. Sal Manrriquez received both his Bachelor of Science as well as his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1985. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, as well as a Fellow of the American Headache Society. He has presented to both national and international audiences on biomechanical and osseointegration issues of dental implants, Orofacial pain disorders as well as morphologic/imaging issues in clinical decision-making. He is a published author. He is a member of the International and American Associations for Dental Research, the American Headache Society, the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, the Academy of Osseointegration, as well as a number of other professional dental organizations.
