Hideki Ikeda, DDS, MS

Dr. Ikeda was born in De Kalb, Illinois and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up under a strong musical environment with both parents as professional musicians; his mother a pianist and father a current member (violist) of the Minnesota Orchestra. Dr. Ikeda graduated with a degree in Biology from Saint Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, but soon afterwards became fascinated with the then-emerging internet boom. Determined to seize the opportunity, he taught himself how to program and within a year, held a position as lead e-commerce developer for a national medical distribution company. After five successful years in the computer industry, Dr. Ikeda decided to follow his heart and pursue a career in dentistry. He moved to California and attended USC Dental School, where he served on the Ethics Committee for four years, was elected Class President for two consecutive years, and then elected as Associate Student Body President while graduating with top honors for both academic and clinical excellence. During his dental education at USC, he met Dr. Yorita while observing in the graduate department and at leadership conferences. Dr. Ikeda completed his post-graduate training in orthodontics at Baylor, Texas, graduating with a master’s degree in oral biology.
